Obviously whoever wrote this did not want FACTS to get in the way!
EVEN STUDENTS AT THE "SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND" CAN SEE THOUGH THIS!
Detective Daryl W. Shirley Houston Police Department, Texas End of Watch Wednesday, April 28, 1982 DARYL W. SHIRLEY 1 - Detective Daryl Shirley was shot and killed as he struggled with a suspect while attempting to serve an arrest warrant.
Truth: This is the story that has been in the Media for the last 36 years without pertinent, relevant, verifiable and accurate details!
2 - Detective Shirley went to an apartment complex where the suspect was believed to have been. When he arrived, he sat by the pool to wait for the suspect to emerge. When the man came out he spotted the detective and re-entered his apartment to arm himself with a .38 caliber Derringer.
Truth: Arthur had been in Texas for 3 months. So how was he suppose to know a person in a checkered shirt, jeans, cowboy boots and hat was a detective? Do all Houston detectives dress like this? If they do how can you tell them from civilians ?
There is NO documentation written or otherwise about the following:"When the man came out he spotted the detective and re-entered his apartment to arm himself with a .38 caliber Derringer." If Arthur went back into the apartment (WHICH HE DID NOT) how would anyone know what he went back into get! This is not only not verifiable but it an out right LIE!
It has been noted in media that Detective Shirley had extensive experience working in the Fugitive Warrant Department. So explain this, he supposedly seen Mr. Williams go back into the apartment,(Again which Mr. Williams did not) but instead of either leaving to come back later, or at the very least call for backup, he decided to have a physical confrontation. Does this sound like "Proper Police Procedure"?
3 - Detective Shirley attempted to make an arrest and a struggle ensued. Detective Shirley instructed a passerby to call the police for backup. As the citizen was doing so he heard two shots. When other officers arrived they located Detective Shirley's hat, badge, and glasses on the scene. His body was later found hidden under a canopy in a parking garage. The suspect was apprehended two days later after being turned in by a friend.
Truth: Again, if they bothered to research which includes reading, Detective Shirley did not instruct a passerby to call the police. It was a male voice from one of the apartments who said "What's going on down there"? Shirley than said "Call the police; this guy trying to shoot me!" SHIRLEY DID NOT IDENTY HIMSELF HAS A COP. This person did call 911, but like everything else that happen at trial, since it would have been "Favorable" to Mr. Williams, it somehow got destroyed BEFORE TRIAL (also a verifiable fact).
Also note that there is NO MENTION OF A "WARRANT" where was it? Hat, badge, and glasses, noted but NO WARRANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because it was not on Shirley (another verifiable fact).
I don't know what this person definition of a Friend is, but NO, his friend did not turn him in.
He was convicted of murder and sentenced to death, however, the sentence was overturned and he was then sentenced to life in prison as part of a plea deal. Detective Shirley is survived by his wife, daughter, two sons, and his parents.
It's appears that "Revenge" more than "Justice"! is more important to even people whom are paid to "Protect and Serve"! - Refer to comments on "Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...", sad!
